Well, you have heard of HD TV, now how about HD Radio? Did you know there are more than 800 million radio receivers in service in America today? Virtually all these radios operate using analog broadcast/reception technology that dates back to the 1960s.
Good news for MP3 lovers that this is also a Zen or iPod accessory where there is an extension to dock in your favourite MP3 player whether its a Zen or iPod MP3 players.

On 9th April 2007, A Creative company, Cambridge Soundworks, began shipping its SoundWorks(R) Radio 820HD stereo table radio. It is the arm of Creative, producing all the high quality Creative speakers.

HD Radio broadcasting is a transformational technology that allows AM and FM stations to broadcast digital signals in tandem with their analog signals, providing broadcasters with a platform to offer multiple channels of programming on the same frequency (multicasting). HD Radio technology provides crystal-clear, CD-quality sound, services such as real-time weather and traffic updates, and scrolling text and graphics content. Over1,200 U.S. stations are on the air, available to 80 percent of Americans,with more than 600 stations offering second multicasting channels.

The SoundWorks Radio 820HD offers the rich, accurate and full-range sound that has made Cambridge SoundWorks radios famous. It will fill even alarge room with rich sound, yet is compact enough to fit easily on a small table. It features dual alarms, a convenient auxiliary input to connect other audio sources, such as an iPod or ZEN MP3 player, and a stereo headphone jack.
