Creative Labs To Delist From Nasdaq

Creative Labs Delist From NASDAQ
In 1992, Creative Labs is the first company from Singapore to be listed in the NASDAQ. That was the pride for Singapore as well. Now Creative is also the first company to delist from NASDAQ effective on 1st August 2007. Citing rising cost of listing in America and illiquid trading. After the bloody MP3 war with Apple, Creative resulted making losses for nearly 3 years and now looking at all means to streamline and cut cost. These efforts can be witnessed in some of my earlier posts such as Great Creative Sales, Not participating in PC Show 2007. Some of our friends say that its a good move to reduce costs.

Personally, we are not sure, yes, maybe Creative can reduce costs in doing so. But the awareness/presence of the company in US is also reduced. Hopefully it can channel some of these resources to advertising or marketing of its new products. The Singapore market reaction to this piece of news is also not favourable, today it just drop by 25c which is about 3% decline.
