Msft was really the problem for everyone the whole time. They are the ones making everyone have a hard time. THANKS!!!

Creative Fan said...

exactly, but many people are very quick to say that Creative is the cause of the problem. Actually, not only Creative MP3 players are affected by this microsoft bug. Many other MP3 players such as iriver, etc are reported to having this problem during their installation and this hotfix will also solve their issues.

MUCH MAHALOS!! I was having this problem with a new sandisk mp3 player I bought. I reformatted and installed media player 10 and the player worked. But after installing some other things (probably my codec packs and other media players such as classic and vlc) the same problem came back. I found this page, installed the file and it works! Wish I knew this fix before formatting last night, but it was needed anyway I'm sure :) THANKS!

Tried & it said a equivalent or newer version is already installed :(
Damn ZEN
hehe
Help?

Thanks, worked like a charm!

The User-Mode driver framework should at least be bundled with the driver though. Considering that the driver requires it to be installed...

Thank you so much. Now I can install Philips GoGear SA6086

Muah! I wasted 6 hrs total (in 2 days) trying to find a fix till I stumbled upon this solution! Thanks a lot.My MP3 player finally gets read on my PC.Lovely...but on a precautionary note, Im never buying Samsung again!

Thanks so much for the fix. Worked like a charm. My new Zen X-Fi was not being recognized by my PC (Windows XP with all updates) nor the Creative software. Updating the drivers gave me the "...Inf is invalid..." error message. Found this web page -- thankfully only an hour or two into my search for a fix -- and downloaded the Microsoft file and ran it. Then when I went to the device manager to update my drivers, everything worked perfectly!

Me too! Had the problem with Zen Sleek Photo. Installed the Microsoft file, and all's well!

Thank you so much!! finally got this to work when i installed it. Many thanks

many thanks
when I wrote to customer support at zen they referred me to a site with tutorials on how to write my own drivers, which is quite a bit over my head.
Now the device works without even installing the software from the CD
