Problem:
Case 1: There is a permanent thin line on the LCD screen display which is constantly getting displayed. I switched off and switched on the player but the vertical line is not going off.
Case 2: It was just a bit darker than normal..
Now I can't read anything on the display, it is blackout, burnt out, I cannot even see if the player is on or off..
Only the buttons still have that blue glow.. but the display remains black.
What can I do about this, except for sending it back??
Did anyone have a similar problem and knows how to solve it ?
Because I don't want to wait 2 or more weeks, till a replacement arrives, I can't live
without my zen !!
Solution:
The case study above sounds familiar?
Verify that your contrast is already set to max 100% by:
Press the Menu/Back button.
Select System.
Select Contrast and adjust the contrast to a preferred level.
Click here to learn more on Zen V Plus player setting
If the contrast is already 100% and screen is still very dark, I'm afraid you probably have a hardware fault on your player. For such problem cases, I have checked with the Creative Knowledge Base. It stated that for industry standards, if there is only a few faulty pixels, its acceptable. Anything more than that, if you have just bought it, I suggest you quickly take back to your retailer. Or you can quickly contact the Creative Customer Support as suggested in the Knowledge Base.

I have a vertical line displayed..sometimes in all screens for some themes and sometimes in the video / options windows (got by pressing back key) ..what can i do...my brightness setting is at 70%
Few pixels, like a small dots is acceptable but 1 straight vertical line is not. When did you buy it? is the warranty over? Did you check with your retailer? for your case, setting the brightness to 100% will not solve your problem
My brother got me from USA..I am in India so I dont think warranty can cover it ....but it appears only in some screens ..can it be a s/w problem
only in some screens? then its not the hardware problem, you try to do a cleanup, see if it helps
Sorry..I will state the exact problem...i see a orange line running somewhere near the middle in all screens..the reason i cant see is some screens / themes is that the orange or a dark black color background hides it..what could be the problem...And thanks for all your replies till now
that's a hardware problem, you can contact the Creative Customer Support in the website and tell them your issue. But its a bit tricky as you bought it in USA and you are now in India. See what they advise and let me know if you have any results.
See I cant tell the exact problem..because in some videos the line is seen and sometimes it disappears and in some other screen the line moves a bit ..I am totally confused
By right, the screen should not have any vertical lines at all. Try contacting Customer Support
I have sent a mail to customer support..i will keep you updated of their response as soon as it comes
I have e-mailed to the customer support but no reply yet and I will put the display screen photo of my Zen V+ shortly...the confusing thing in the album navigation screen the vertical line is not seen only in the Dawn theme for all other themes the line changes color according to the theme
yep.. it should be like that
So here is the Flickr link to the screenshot photos of my Zen V+

The Creative Customer support wanted me to use the Clean Up option in recovery mode...but that too didnt work
yup, clean up cannot solve it alright. show them your photos, let them comment on it. i am quite sure its hardware issue.
I have got a mail from Customer support saying that to get it to a repair center for repair / replacement....as i told you its not under a Indian warranty..so that will not serve the purpose..hope i have to live with that Line
yup, like what i told you its a hardware fault. But its tricky for you as you are in India and its bought in USA. Did you tell them your situation and whether they can give you a replacement in India? thru their local branch?
I have mailed them my predicament...but they want the receipt of purchase which I dont have...so I dont think i will be able to get it replaced
