Zen Stone does not have a screen, can shuffle to select your music. Its tiny with 1GB capacity. Its not difficult to think of it as an iPod Shuffle competitor.
Difference between Zen Stone and iPod Shuffle
1) The size of these 2 MP3 players are comparable. Zen Stone has an LED light to show that it is charging or functioning well.
2) iPod Shuffle has a clip to attach itself to clothes for workout. Zen Stone do not have a clip but comes with a string to wear it like a necklace.
3) Zen Stone comes with a free not-too-bad earphone. An a free USB cable for charging and transferring music.
4) Besides the Shuffle function, Zen Stone allows you to 'Repeat All' or 'Skip Folder' function, where you can repeat or skip tracks. This function is also not seen in an iPod Shuffle.
5) Some breakthrough in the driver, Zen Stone uses a software called Creative Media Lite which can be downloaded for free from the Creative website. In the past, software must be installed from CD and its a massive size too. This software is primarily meant for transferring songs and ripping CD, cannot be used like the iTunes for playing your music. The songs will be converted as mp3 format with 128kbps and cannot be encoded otherwise.
6) Zen Stone also has a volume control to protect your ears.
