Problem: I'm currently runnning Win 2k and looking to buy a Zen Vision M or Zen MP3 Player. Will it connect? Can it copy music?
Solution: Most of all subscription and purchase song sites require you to be running Windows XP software that is (at least) DRM 10 compatible (a Microsoft Windows Spec). Windows 2000 is a legacy product and is so old that the highest version of mediaplayer available for Windows 2000 only supports DRM 9, which makes its DRM management system incompatible with most for purchase media services. Its just difficult to get MTP devices to work properly on Windows 2000 at things built into the MTP device will recognize it as not being a fully compatible DRM 10 setup and do things like forbid you from copying content from the MTP devices, or potentially installing content.
