This looks like one major change in the business approach of Creative. Auzentech who used to be a competitor is now a customer to Creative. Creative used to monopolised the soundcard market and swallow up the smaller players such as Aureal, if you can recall. However, with the introduction of cheap, do-able onboard soundchip, many non-gamers are satisfied with the moderate-quality integrated audio solutions and do not wish to upgrade by buying a soundcard. Creative will now sell or license out its X-Fi audio processors to third-party makers in a bid to popularize high-quality audio solutions for PC. Its just what the video chip maker like Nvidia is doing now, selling video chip to 3rd parties and let they produce their own video cards for consumers.
