Problem: I have the X-FI music, I also have a logitech Quickcam Fusion. After Installing QuickCam, 9.x or above, my Sound Blaster Audigy, Sound Blaster X-Fi or other multi-channel audio device is not providing sound to all audio output channels. The following anomalies may be observed:
1. Multi-channel audio only plays on certain speakers (usually the rear speakers)
2. Hardware Acceleration is partially disabled
3. Possible loss of the EAX and CMSS features
4. Digital Audio (SPDIF) not available
Solution: The problem is caused by the RightSound Technology of the Logitech webcams.
Disable the "AEC" feature of RightSound technology in QuickCam 9.x and above:
1. Insure that all audio streams are stopped
2. Launch the QuickCam application
3. Click on the Change Settings icon
4. Click on the Audio Settings icon
5. Locate and uncheck the "Cancel Echo" option
This will restore the normal feature set of your above mentioned audio devices. If you still have issues, please verify that the hardware acceleration slider for your audio playback device is set to full acceleration
Adjusting Hardware Acceleration:
1. Open Windows Control Panel
2. Double click the “Sound and Audio Devices” icon
3. Select the “Audio" tab
4. Under “Sound playback” click “Advanced”
5. Locate and the click “Performance” tab
6. Slide “Hardware acceleration” to “Full”
7. Click “Apply” then OK”
8. Restart your computer
