Creative Labs Zen MP3 Players Sound Blaster Card

i have just purchased a creative zen 2gb and i am having problems loading the software. it calls for xp sp2 or vista. i am unable to upgrade to sp2 because everytime i try my computer crashes (online download or disk from microsoft). is there anyway to enable this to work on sp1?

it will be difficult to work on sp1. something seems to be wrong with your PC, do you consider formatting it and reinstalling your win xp with sp2?

AHHHH! the cd that came with my zen 16gb will not load on my computer, and i keep getting error messages
like this one: [I]-DoInstall fails to launch
F:\PDE\CTXInst\setup.inx.CTXCommonDoInstall return error code is

i also get error messages when i attempt to download ANYTHING from the creative website, except for the recovery tool and the most recent firmware. yet nothing has been fixed. do i not have the correct operating system? how can i find out? what is the service pack 2? i've emailed creative twice and both responses have been useless. i really feel like returning this, though it was a gift, and i'm tired of lugging my four year old iriver around with me. i just wish i could CALL someone to walk me through this. i am not computer savvy, but i am feeling really depressed and frustrated. i'm not even sure how to check to see if anyone has responded to this post. the advice someone else got about reinstalling xp is overwhelmingly scary. sorry if i sound insane, but i've been here all day trying to work with this thing. i'm truly grateful for any help i can get.

I lost my installation CD and I cannot find the link for the driver software.

hi, my mom bought me a Zen 2GB and I lost the CD for it.
I saw that you said if I lost it to click the links below and they just take me to a driver scan thing to fix crative zen drivers.
Is there anyway for me to get the CD or do you have a link where I can Install it?

same here- i emailed creative and they replied that the cd installtion disc for the Zen is OUT OF STOCK

I have a Zen 4GB for two years now. I can watch some videos but some say resolution not supported by player. Am I missing a download upgrade or something. I have been trying to watch a 15 minute news podcast from MSNBC?
