After the controversial warning message from Phil to Daniel_k regarding his modded vista drivers, this has caused a big havoc in the internet world. Surprisingly, the warning message comes from Phil, Creative Lab's VP of Corporate Communications. As a PR chief, I think he can do better than that. Creative is already in a bad shape now (bad stock market performance, dwindling sales revenue, selling its HQ), this bad publicity is certainly adding up to its current woes.
In this latest development, Creative finally took the humble pie and now issues another thread hoping to pacify the angry mob regarding its bad PR message to the driver modder. In this sudden change of attitude, Creative appreciate the modding efforts and hope to work with daniel_k regarding 3rd party support.
Outside developers have been very helpful to Creative and our customers by developing updates for many of our Sound Blaster products, and we do support and appreciate these efforts.
We hope to work out a mutually agreeable method for working with Daniel_k in supporting his efforts in driver development. Going forward, we are committed to doing a better job of working more closely with third parties to support their development for our products and our customers.
