Solution: Error I-001 Installation Is Unable To Continue Because Of One Or More Unresovled Issues.

Problem: Just the other day at our forum, rofl717717 was having problem installing his Zen V Plus installation CD on his win XP. There was a strange error "Installation is unable to continue because of one or more unresovled Issues. Please contact support services Quote: Error I-001" which do not allow him to continue with the installation.

Solution: Well, good news, we managed to find the solution to this problem. These are the steps required to resolve this problem.
1. Leave the error messages on the screen.
2. Click on the Start button, and then click on Search.
3. Select All files and Folders, and type INSTALL.LOG in the file name field.
4. If more than one copy of the INSTALL.LOG is found, check on the date for each file, and open the most recent file using notepad. This should correspond to the date / time of the installation attempt.
5. Scroll to the last 1-3 lines in this log file.
These lines should show what installation file, Windows file, or registry component was not found by the installation.

At this point, you can try to reinstall the missing file or Windows component.

And this problem was resolved. You can find all the action here in our forum.

I have a working solution for this problem. This problem is probably encountered when you've had to repair an install of windows, thus have old files laying around in a fresh windows installation, at least this was the case for me. Nothing seemed to help at first, but finally I pinpointed the problem to the Installshield application rather than Creatives drivers.

The problem is with installshield, and can be fixed by deleting the following folder

\program files\common files\installshield

after that the installation of whatever creative product works. At least worked for me while nothing else did.

Thanks mizi. I actually deleted C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information because I misread your comment but it worked anyway.

Yep, that's in fact the correct directory, in Vista that is. My instructions were for XP, so that probably explains it.

This did not work!! None of it did, thanks a lot a holes

Hey, to the above idiot, if you messed up your system due to your own ignorance and not backing up your files, that's your problem, not these people who are trying to help.

Anonymous: I guess you got windows 7?
Anyway, I get the exact same error on both the CD and the web update version. :(
I have located the source of the problem though, APOIM.
I just don't know how to solve it!

Anonymous said...

No es por nada pero no funciona ninguno de los metodos que se indican en este foro

Anonymous said...

What if I got windows 7 ? I keep on getting
Installation is unable to continue because of one or more unresolved issues. Please contact support servis and quote "Error I-001"

Jimmyboy88 said...

did you try the method as stated above?

Anonymous said...

tried all that nothing is working for me (tring to get my pos rocketfish soundcard to work)

Anonymous said...

Same for me, neither the method above nor the other solution worked. ;(

This is what I have found in the log file:

[Sound Blaster Audigy]
GUID={1B1DDAD2-C704-49F8-8FC2-18DAAD9A87C5}
Error=I-001 I:\XP\Audio\SETUP\Version.ini not found.

So I looked for Version.ini on the CD that was provided by Creative (that was I:\XP...) and did not find it. :(
So, the CD, I mean the provider has some issue to solve with the software support disc.
I will now try to download the online driver ...

Can you answere to this email address dan94@citromail.hu.(sorry for my bad english and for the long comment)

Jimmyboy88 said...

Anonymous said...

i tried both by the first way comes can not find install.log

Anonymous said...

i tried installing the software, got the i-001, and these were the contents of the Install.log file:

[Sound Blaster Tactic(3D) Alpha]
GUID={2226247D-9846-4370-A1EF-FAA6958F7632}
Error=I-001 Bitmaps not found.

i already tried contacting Creative support, but either they don't work on the weekend, or they're just plain ignoring the "stupid one providing almost all the info needed"

I had the same problem, none of above helped for me.
I have win7 64bit enterprise.
Runned as admin, deleted the files and so on.
But still, i found a solution.
I copied the file to a new folder where i extracted it with win-rar. Then i navigated to audio => setup and double clicked setup. And miracelous it worked.

hope this works for everyone..

[Sound Blaster Tactic(3D) Sigma]
GUID={93CFCA51-4484-4211-89EB-39ED3CBDBEB1}
Error=I-001 Bitmaps not found.
I have found a solution.
First start the installer and until you get the error, but do not exit yet.
Now go to C:\Windows\Temp and find a folder named CRFxxx, and go to the highest number (ex. 025) and copy it.
Now paste the folder somewhere.
Click okay on the error.
Now navigate the folder you pasted and run \CRFxxx\Audio\Setup\setup.exe
Now you shouldn't get the error, i hope it helps!

Had this error as well and came up with my own solution. Thanks to the couple guys that provided clues to what to do.

Solution:
Use 7-Zip to extract the installer to its own folder. Navigate to Audio/Setup/ within that folder and run setup.exe. Follow the install instructions as normal.

Worked like a charm. Now to report this to Creative. Not that they'll listen.
