when i try to record with creative media source 5.25.02 it say reacording process aborted every time anyone know how to fix that?
is there any error messages? aborted due to any reason?
Installed a Creative card a couple of years ago but never hooked up the speakers - till now. Just ran the installation disk. Now have a MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer and a MediaSource Player/Organizer version 3.20.21. Since Creative shows downloads available for both 5 and 3.20.21 not sure if 5 replaces the 3.20.21.
What is the difference? Need both?
if you dont need them, you dont have to install. these are not drivers
can zen xtra work with mediasource 5
it should
no harm trying it
Installed new software after buying sound card. When I record something the playback speed is faster than it is recorded. Any ideas> Thanks much.
check your settings. are you using the recommended 'digital playback'?
when i record a bit of something to put as a ringtone it used to be fine but now it just makes a high pitch noise and no song gets recorded
are you using the latest version? which OS are you using?
When I installed this version, I couldn't play many songs at the same time, I mean..., for example, I select two or three mp3 tracks and try to open with the player, but it's just the last song the one which appears in the playlist, and I have to add another ones manually.. Is there any problem with some codec?, I love this organizer, but I can't use it as I want to, could I get any help???
you listen to many songs at the same time? pardon me but why do you want to do that?
I'm using CMS 5.25.02. on Windows Vista.
I have three recording sources: Digital Imput Device (SPDIF)(Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio), Stereo Mix (VIA High Definition Audio), and Microphone FP (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio). I can record on the mike, but I cannot record audio off my computer like I did with my older XP. When I try, a window says a problem caused CMS 5 to stop, and it quits. I also have CMS 3.30.35, but "recording source" is grayed out and unavailable. Any thoughts?
how do i burn cds using creative? i got a new computer and now i can't burn i can only create "mini-discs". help please!
use creative centrale, it comes togther with your zen
im usisng crative media source the latest version....it only gives me the option to record from my microphone..but no other source come up...im runnin vista..could u tell me wat i need to do please?? thats to jimmyboy cause it looks like u no wat your on about...peace..Tommy
besides recording audio, the mediasource can also play audio and video. try it
Yo Jimmyboy88, my fellow requestor is having the same recording issue as me... I had blue screen of death and had to reload Creative Mediasource (5.20.23) from web. Previously via creative soundcard I could record audio straight from the PC. Now cannot. Have tried all record source options. Did Creative change the mediasource program to prevent this? Also no longer allows MP3 recording format (which is it used too). Now points to a software purchase if you want MP3... What are my choices?
From my last post ("Yo Jimmyboy88..."), I first upgraded Mediasource to version 5.25.02, then I googled and found Digital Music LX drivers which when loaded has sorted my recording problem. The soundcard now nicely records anything playing through it.... Still no clue as to why I cant record in MP3 however. 5.25.02 only allows WAV and WMA, even when ripping... Do I really have to download a different ripping software just to convert this to MP3???? Mediasource used to accomplish it just fine. Am I missing something?
yes, i noticed that too mediasource cant record in mp3 format. you will have to try other freewares. how about winamp ?
plenty of freebie MP3 ripping programs around, just annoying there is silence from anyone related to Creative on why Mediasource has changed. I really liked using it for the last 6 years. Perhaps a function of legal settlement with Apple?...
Hello,
I cant play any songs from my Creative players through MediaSource 5 or Creative Central when I use Windows 7. I can see the content on my Creative Zen Mosaic and Zen vision M but that's it. I've installed Mediasource for windows 7 but it doesnt matter. Does anyone have similar problems?
I'M NOT ABLE TO UNINSTALL CREATIVE MEDIA SOURCE 5.
ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO DO THIS?
go into system > software/hardware > remove
any option there?
I recently downloaded this product to my laptop. It will not let me install it. It tells me that it cannot find a supported (insert something or other here that is not "supported"). Was there something else I was supposed to have before I tried to download??
Ya, this new version won't install unless it recognizes a supported mp3 player connected to your system. I lost my mp3 player, but I love the simplicity of the software. Anyone found a way around this dilemna?
figured it out: unzip the damn exe, delete the pid and cmsgo folders, then open setup.exe out of one of the other folders. FYI Or, there's a good version here I think:

Running Windows XP and have Creative Sound Blaster X-fi installed(came bundled) with 5.1 speaker system. I used to be able to record "what u Hear" as recording source but that option is no longer displayed In fact no source otion is now displayed What could have gone wrong and how can I fix it.
