
Wyoming National Guard soldiers deploying to Iraq and Kuwait will keep themselves entertained by listening to audio books using Creative's 2GB ZEN Mozaic mp3 players.
"It makes them feel at home when they're away from home," State Librarian Lesley Boughton said. "All of our electronic resources are available to all residents, wherever they are."
The Wyoming State Library is giving mp3 players and library cards to the more than 900 soldiers departing Wyoming next week for yearlong tours.
With the library cards, soldiers can download audio books to their mp3 players while serving overseas.
Creative Technology Ltd. sold the Zen Mosaic mp3 players to the library at a discount.
The 940 departing army soldiers constitute the largest single-unit deployment in state history.
Creative Technology, Ltd. sold the 2-gigabyte Zen Mosaic MP3 players to the library at a discounted rate. Private donations helped the library pay for the players.
