The Empire Strikes back! (?)

The FCC recently saw a warm welcome to what appears to be the Creative Zii or/and Creative Zii EGG device (or a phone?) . Looking further this is labelled as “A touch screen MP4 player”, model no. “NSC-FL02”. We also spy what looks mostly like an HD Camera on its back. What’s more intriguing is the Developer Edition EGG version. I speculate a Developer Edition code named Egg. As it’s named Zii, its most likely related to ZiiLabs Zii SOC which s quite comparable to Tegra to an extent.

Naming:

Creative have quite always been very different with naming. Stone, Mozaic, Moo! By EGG we might let this pass. It doesn’t appear to be shaped like an EGG but that makes us even more curious of how the front is going to be.

Wireless:

Apparently this model has Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi. More speculation on that later.

HD Camera:

Positively an HD Camera can be seen. What makes more sense is Creative has already a good deal amount of knowledge of HD Cameras with their Vado line up.

So far so good. What’s perfect here is a touch screen device with a Zii chip and wireless functionality. Perhaps some X-Fi sound enhancements? Creative has also been very loyal to Android in the past months, so for all droids fans, that’s another great news. Especially in the app market.
