Perhaps someone should explain why Creative is always going down with selling persistent when most other tech stocks are up and up. The Zii egg is not even ready.

Sadly Creative just isn't living up to its name. There are no exciting new products and support for existing items is weak. It seems to have escaped Creative that their customer base is important and that brand loyalty works both ways. What was a cutting edge product now looks distinctly tarnished. There are lots of Creative items and spares out there, just don't go to Creative if you want to replace batteries, screens, cases etc. Try ebay!

Big names will never use Creative's design for OEM products. They always do their own design. Creative cannot be a contract manufacturing either since they sold off their factory in Malaysia and doesn't have any economies of scale like others. And their chip is neither proven nor enjoy economies of scale like others. They only can wait for shanzhai because they already set that as their target and hardly spend $ on marketing. Recent weakness in share price is likely due to refocusing their strategy again, i.e. potential huge losses again before they can get it right.

creative has a factory in china much bigger and lower cost than the one in malacca. its not easy to start making chip especially there are so many established companies such as intel, amd, etc but if they can find a niche in the portable mobile market then there is a chance

i am looking forward to their mediabook and their collaboration with SPH! capture kindle market but now with ipad around, things are getting interesting...
