CES 2011: Cambridge SoundWorks Unveils Groundbreaking Green Hybrid Speaker System Technology

SINGAPORE - Cambridge SoundWorks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd, today announced its green hybrid speaker system technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The technology, which allows a speaker system to run with unprecedented power efficiency, is being demonstrated at the Creative booth #20913 in the South Hall 1 of the Las Vegas Convention Center from 6 - 9 January 2011.

Featured in the elegantly designed Cambridge SoundWorks Hybrid 2.0 speaker system, Cambridge SoundWorks’ breakthrough green hybrid speaker system technology is so efficient that it allows speakers to run on USB power with a computer while delivering performance which was previously possible only with AC power, resulting in as much as a 10x increase in efficiency without compromising the rich, deep sound quality that has become a Cambridge SoundWorks trademark.

"We’re really excited about this technology and speaker system because they provide such a dramatic improvement upon power efficiency. We are ushering in the era of the green speaker with this groundbreaking announcement" said Craig McHugh, President and COO of Creative Labs, Inc. "The Cambridge SoundWorks Hybrid 2.0 speaker system requires only about ten percent of the power that would otherwise be required for the same level of output in a non-hybrid speaker system"

The Cambridge SoundWorks green hybrid speakers feature a precision-tuned, two-way speaker design with dedicated tweeters for sharp, detailed highs and robust midrange drivers for richer, fuller sound. The speakers include a BasXPort™ for enhanced bass and excellent low frequency response without the need for a subwoofer.

Further enhancing the outstanding performance of the Cambridge SoundWorks Hybrid 2.0 speaker system featuring the green hybrid speaker system is THX TruStudio Pro™, Creative’s extensive suite of audio enhancements. THX TruStudio Pro is specially designed to bring the same great audio experience found in live performances, films and recording studios to the PC. THX TruStudio Pro provides groundbreaking technologies that are the product of years of collective experience and research by Creative and THX. Together, these technologies deliver the fullest audio experience for music, movies and games, while remaining true to the source and intention of the artists who created them.

THX TruStudio Pro SurroundTM
THX TruStudio Pro Surround provides immersion control to enhance the natural sense of audio depth and spaciousness by creating virtual surround sound channels. Stereo content or multi-channel content played over stereo speakers and headphones will sound as if it is coming from all sides while voices remain centred in front and original balance and timbre is preserved.

THX TruStudio Pro CrystalizerTM
THX TruStudio Pro Crystalizer restores the natural dynamic range that is lost when iTunes and MP3 music gets compressed. This makes the music sound as good as the artist originally intended, and adds an enhanced level of realism for movies and games.

THX TruStudio Pro SpeakerTM
THX TruStudio Pro Speaker fills in the missing low frequency tones and gives the extra impact for a better entertainment experience. Consumers no longer have to tolerate lack of bass in speakers built into notebook PCs, 2.0 speakers or headphones, as THX TruStudio PC Speaker technology dramatically improves the sound experience without a subwoofer.

THX TruStudio Pro Dialog PlusTM
THX TruStudio Pro Dialog Plus enhances the voices in movies for clearer dialogue, allowing the listener to hear the dialogue over the rest of the soundtrack and over ambient noise in the listening environment.

THX TruStudio Pro Smart VolumeTM
THX TruStudio Pro Smart Volume addresses the problem of abrupt volume level changes during playback and between songs by automatically and continuously measuring volume, and intelligently applying gain and attenuation to compensate for those changes.

Sell 1 million of your new products per year or sell yourself to China tech companies at a good price. It will be a sad thing if Creative is sold because it means Singapore tech company cannot make it. Ziio has made some mistakes already.

I bet Ng Kai Wa the impatient will still continue selling. But I think he will soon realize he is selling at too low a price.
Jimmy Loh, take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/user/overtherainbow2011#p/a/u/1/Drc-jmJANME
And please tell Creative to quickly tie-up with MOE/EPH/SPH (they have done the chinese dict, chinese han vision software). Some schools are buying expensive ipod and iphone for students to learn chinese char strokes. I have not learn of the super expensive ipad purchase by schools yet. Ziio did very well with the pen, excellent for education and low cost => all Singapore students can get 1. And soon other countries will follow and Ziibook will grow. Do it now or let Apple do it, more expensively for Singapore and the rest of world.

I don't buy Creative shares just because of mediabook vision. Secondary protocol: takeover at least S$10 a share. Ng Kai Wa might be the first to sell if there is such an offer.

which chinese firm is interested in creative?

Jimmy Log, is Creative going to make it or not?

Ng Kai Wa recently might have sold 58450 shares in the open market. It could be more as we get more updates.

Another reason why I bought heavily into Creative is their leader, Sim, does not nibble with Creative shares. I have not heard of him selling or buying in the open market since it is listed in Singapore at S$25.80 per share. Maybe one day he decides to sell his whole stake at good price and this will benefit shareholders.

Jimmy Loh, please forward my suggestion. Creative is keen to do share buy back. Ng Kai Wa is keen to dump his stake. Ask them to do a one off off-market deal. This will remove uncertainty and then I can continue with my purchase.

if mr sim dont sell, no one can takeover creative :)

This SonicGear Xenon XFi200 speaker almost sold out when it first arrived to Challenger about 3 days ago. Is this using Creative X-Fi?
