01

On November 18, Creative introduced a new (and surprising) range of products in China.

1. Creative Zen Moo, Zen Mi and Zen Moo Speakers

That’s right! The Creative Zen Moo is apparently the latest Zen mp3 player from Creative in the shape of a cow! Moo – the Cow moo! According to Chinese Calendar the year 2009 is the year of the Ox. Therefore OX..Cow ? Well anyway the Zen Moo is to China only for now. The Moo comes without a screen Zen Moo and with a nice OLED screen: Zen Moo Plus. It’s pretty much the Zen Stone and Zen Stone plus dairy-fied!

Features of the Zen Moo:

  • Plays MP3s and WMA audio files.
  • 2GB Capacity ( about 500 mp3s or 1000 wma tracks).
  • Comes in different colours/styles: White cow, Pink Cow, Red Cow and Golden/Yellow Cow!
  • Normal mini USB connector.
  • Powerful (for it’s size) built in speaker
  • 20 hours of battery life.

Also introduced is the ZEN Mi – not an mp3 player but its a speaker dock system for the Chinese only ZEN Krystal which was released a few months back in China and Japan.

2. Inspire T12 – Portable 2.0 Speaker System

This was too announced in China and it’s meant for Notebook users. Both the N400 and T12 were presented as Notebook speakers. The T12 have a mixed look between the Inspire T10 and T20. It seems to be a perfect fit.

3. Creative Vado HD

This was spotted before and now it has made a public first time appearance in China. The Vado started off as a cheap point and shoot web friendly video camera. It was plain easy to operate. It didn’t have any connecting wires necessary as it came with an inbuilt USB that popped out. It was sure to aim at it’s competitor that started all this craze: the flip Mino. the Vado was very basic. It had a 2gb storage with built in rechargeable battery. However it pretty much didn’t do anything else apart from that. Being a web friendly (YouTube, photobucket) device it sure was not meant to replace your Digital camcorder. It shot in 640x480 resolution at about 30 fps). When suddenly the Flip MinoHD was introduced only over a week ago, was Creative in trouble? No! They already had an HD version of Vado coming up. Behold the Vado HD! The Vado is supposed to be arriving just in time for Christmas for about S$299; US $200. The Vado can shoot HD videos of 1024x768 resolution at 30 frames per second and it is as easy and simple as before. It even has 8GB of storage capacity which can shoot around 2-4 hours of video.
